Der Beitrag konzentriert sich auf die Darstellung ausgewählter Elemente des Denkens des zeitgenössischen indischen Philosophen Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) im Kontext der axiologischen Herausforderungen, die die moderne Zeit an den Menschen stellt. Der dargestellte Autor greift das Problem der Wertekrise und des Zusammenbruchs alter Formen auf, die jahrhundertelang das Leben der Gesellschaft organisierten und den Handlungen des Einzelnen einen Sinn gaben. Er stellt eine kritische Diagnose des aktuellen Zustands der Dinge und schlägt eine radikale Lösung vor, die auf der inneren Transformation des Individuums gründet. Der Philosoph argumentiert, dass wahre Erneuerung ihren Ursprung nur in einer tiefgreifenden religiösen Transformation hat, in der die veralteten Formen des spirituellen Lebens des Menschen abgelehnt werden. Diese alten Formen, die ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit und Zugehörigkeit vermitteln, führen dazu, dass weder das Individuum noch die daran beteiligte Gruppe in der Lage sind, spontan auf die sich schnell verändernden Lebensbedingungen der modernen Welt zu reagieren. Nach Krishnamurtis Meinung besteht die Lösung dieses Dilemmas nicht darin, Religiosität und innere Transformation zugunsten der kollektiven Emanzipation aufzugeben, sondern alte Formen allmählich abzulehnen und durch ein unermüdliches Streben nach der inneren Transformation des Individuums zu ersetzen.

The article will focus on present selected elements of the thought of the contemporary Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) in the context of the axiological challenges of modern times. The presented figure explicitly addresses the issues of the crisis of values and the collapse of the old forms that have organized the life of a society for centuries and gave meaning to the actions of the individual. Krishnamurti makes a critical diagnosis of the current state of affairs and proposes a radical solution that is based on the internal transformation of the individual. Philosopher argues that a true renewal can only begin after a profound religious transformation that rejects out-of-date forms of spiritual life. These old forms promise a sense of security and belonging, and precisely because of this neither the individual nor the group involved in them is able to respond spontaneously to the rapidly changing conditions of the modern world. In Krishamurti’s opinion, the solution to this dilemma cannot be found by giving up religion and an internal transformation in favor of a collective emancipation, but in a successive rejection of old forms and their replacement by a tireless pursuit of an internal transformation.

W artykule przedstawione są wybrane elementy myśli współczesnego indyjskiego filozofa Jiddu Krishnamurtiego (1895–1986) w kontekście wyzwań aksjologicznych, jakie przed człowiekiem stawia współczesność. Prezentowana postać podejmuje problem kryzysu wartości i upadku starych form, które od wieków organizowały życie społeczeństwa i nadawały znaczenie działaniom jednostki. Stawia krytyczną diagnozę obecnego stanu rzeczy i proponuje radykalne rozwiązanie, które zasadza się na wewnętrznej przemianie jednostki. Filozof przekonuje, że prawdziwe odnowienie ma początek tylko w głębokiej religijnej transformacji, w której odrzucone zostają zdezaktualizowane formy życia duchowego człowieka. Te stare formy nadające poczucie bezpieczeństwa i przynależności powodują, że ani jednostka, ani grupa w nie uwikłana nie jest w stanie spontanicznie reagować na gwałtownie zmieniające się warunki życia współczesnego świata. W opinii Krishnamurtiego, rozwiązaniem tego dylematu nie jest rezygnacja z religijności i wewnętrznej przemiany na rzecz kolektywnej emancypacji, ale sukcesywne odrzucanie starych form i zastępowanie ich niestrudzonym dążeniem do wewnętrznej przemiany jednostki.
