In the functional and stylistic differentiation of modern Belarusian language the researchers assign a bigger position to religious texts. Church and religious literature is internally dissimilar, the translations of the Bible make up its core. Books of the Holly Scripture have been source of numerous collocations and expressions and proverbs in different languages. Despite the growing interesting the problem, the idioms of biblical origin in the Belarusian language have not been studied enough.The Belarusian equivalents of biblical words inherited in the Polish language have been analyzed in the article on the material of the New Testament translated by U. Charniausky under the editorship of J. Nekrashevich-Karotkaya.
