Cyprian Norwid holds a prominent place in Kazimierz Braun’s artistic output. Braun’s fascination with the work of the author of The Grand Ring of the Dame, derived from his family home, his studies in Polish Studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and his studies at the Directing Department of the State Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw and ideological proximity to the poet resulted in Braun’s subsequent directing work on the Norwid’s dramas. In total, during his stay in the country, Braun prepared 14 productions of Norwid’s dramas, and these were: The Ring of the Great Lady, The Actor, Tyrtej-Behind the Scenes, Cleopatra and Caesar, Pure Love at the Baths of the Sea. As a signum temporis of Braun’s artistic technique, it can be seen from the fact that several dramas were prepared first as a television show, then as a full-length play in the theater and then transferred to the Television Theater.

Cyprian Norwid zajmuje poczesne miejsce w dorobku artystycznym Kazimierza Brauna. Fascynacja twórczością autora Pierścienia wielkiej damy, wyniesiona z domu rodzinnego, studia polonistyczne w UAM w Poznaniu, studia na Wydziale Reżyserii w PWST w Warszawie i bliskość ideowa z poetą zaowocowały kolejnymi pracami reżyserskimi Brauna nad dramatami Norwida. W sumie, w okresie pobytu w kraju, Braun przygotował 14 wystawień dramatów Norwida, a były to: Pierścień Wielkiej-Damy, Aktor, Tyrtej-Za kulisami, Kleopatra i Cezar, Miłość czysta u kąpieli morskich. Jako signum temporis warsztatu artystycznego Brauna może świadczyć fakt, iż kilka dramatów zostało przygotowanych najpierw jako widowisko telewizyjne, potem jako pełnospektaklowa sztuka w teatrze a następnie przeniesiona do Teatru Telewizji.
