Religious Education Among the Polish Community in France from the Perspective of a Pilot Study

The subject of this article are ways of deepening faith by the Polish community in France, which is associated with Polish parishes. In the study, the indicators of the development of faith were private prayer, prayer with family, conversations on religious topics, participation in catechesis, listening to sermons, reading the Holy Bible, participation in religious pilgrimages, reading religious websites, reading religious books, watching religious programs on TV, listening to religious radio broadcasts, reading religious press, conversations with priests on religious topics. This issue is located in the sociology of education. The source of information are pilot studies that were carried out in 2019 in three Polish parishes in France. They were to verify the survey, which is a necessary procedure in the preparation of basic research. These are not representative studies, but in this article they show the condition of religious education in the studied population. According to them, more than half of the respondents are interested in deepening their faith and take various actions to develop it. They represent orthodox religiosity. An argument for undertaking the subject of religious education among French Polonia is the religious pluralism of French society and the idea of a Catholic Pole. These are the main contexts of religious education for this group of emigrants.

Tematem artykułu są sposoby pogłębiania wiary religijnej przez Polonię związaną z polskimi parafiami i ośrodkami duszpasterskimi we Francji. Źródłem informacji są badania empiryczne zrealizowane w 2019 r. Wykorzystanymi wskaźnikami pogłębiania wiary była praktyka modlitwy prywatnej, modlitwy wspólnej z rodziną, rozmowy na tematy religijne z bliskimi i nieznajomymi oraz udział w parafialnej katechezie dorosłych. Pytano również o takie metody rozwijania wiary jak: słuchanie kazań, czytanie Pisma Świętego, udział w pielgrzymkach, udział w spotkaniach grup modlitewnych, korzystanie z religijnych stron internetowych, czytanie książek religijnych, oglądanie programów religijnych w telewizji, słuchanie religijnych audycji radiowych, czytanie prasy religijnej, rozmowy z księżmi na tematy religijne. Podjętą problematyka sytuuje się w ramach socjologii wychowania. Źródłem informacji są natomiast badania wstępne zrealizowane w trzech polskich parafiach we Francji. Miały one na celu weryfikację narzędzia badawczego, co jest konieczną procedurą w przygotowaniu badań podstawowych. Nie są to badania reprezentatywne, natomiast pokazują kondycję wychowania religijnego w badanej populacji. Według nich ponad połowa respondentów interesuje się pogłębianiem swojej wiary i podejmuje różne działania, aby ją rozwijać. Reprezentują oni religijność kościelną. Argumentem dla podjęcia tematyki wychowania religijnego wśród Polonii francuskiej jest pluralizm religijny francuskiego społeczeństwa oraz idea Polaka-katolika. Są to zasadnicze konteksty edukacji religijnej tej grupy emigrantów, które zostały rozwinięte w niniejszym artykule.
