The present paper discusses the semantic and stylistic diversity of the Chekhov’s literary texts with antonyms in their titles. In their structure there can be found different both dictionary and con­notative senses, which have been revealed as a result of the analysis. As it is observed, the antonyms in question are the significant characteristics of the writer’s idiostyle.

В статье представлено семантическое и стилистическое своеобразие произведений А. П. Чехова с антонимами в заглавиях. В их структуре синтезируются различные смыслы, как словарные, так и коннотативные, которые и выявляются в ходе анализа. Полагается, что такие антонимы являются существенной особенностью идиостиля писателя.
