The Aramaic Version of the Book of Hosea

The chief aim of this article is to show the key features of the Aramaicversion of the Book of Hosea, that is a part of the Targum Jonathan. Thefirst section of the research is the translation of a few passages of TargumHos 1–3. On the basis of these translations, the allegorical meaning of themarriage of the Prophet in the targumic interpretation is shown. These arealso some features of targumic renderings. The second part of the articlediscusses the most important aspects of the theological concept of TargumJonathan based on examples from Targum Hosea.
