Nowadays, problems related to a particular place are gaining more and more popularity among researchers. Paradoxically, the atomization of a state’s territory allows for a better understanding of the complex structures that state creates. It is in this respect that the local nature of the processes taking place is today a reference point for a broadly understood discussion about the values of a place (town). The article presents the process of restoring historical memory in a small town in Ukraine and the impact of this memory on the town’s tourist attractiveness. The author refers to the results of research carried out in Slavuta and analyzes selected historical periods - their importance for the tourist attractiveness of the town. It also indicates proposed activities aimed at preparing an effective strategy aimed at promoting the town externally. The article is part of a broader scientific discussion on the tourist attractiveness of small Ukrainian towns, which has been successfully taking place in Ukraine since 2015.

Współcześnie coraz większą popularność wśród badaczy zyskuje problematyka dotycząca konkretnego miejsca. Paradoksalnie, atomizacja obszaru państwa pozwala na lepsze poznanie złożonych struktur, jakie to państwo tworzy. W tym właśnie zakresie lokalny charakter zachodzących procesów stanowi dzisiaj punkt odniesienia dla szeroko ujętej dyskusji odnośnie walorów miejsca (miasta). Artykuł przedstawia proces przywracania historycznej pamięci w małym mieście na Ukrainie i wpływowej pamięci na atrakcyjność turystyczną tego miasta. Autor odwołuje się do wyników badań przeprowadzonych w miejscowości Sławuta i przeprowadza analizę wybranych okresów historycznych - ich znaczenia dla turystycznej atrakcyjności miasta. Wskazuje również propozycje działań mających na celu przygotowanie skutecznej strategii skierowanej na promocje miasta na zewnątrz. Artykuł stanowi część szerszej dyskusji naukowej na temat turystycznej atrakcyjności niewielkich ukraińskich miast, która sukcesywnie trwa na Ukrainie od 2015 roku.
