With the ever-growing importance of images in modern times, online visibility management systems, such as the YouTube content organizing algorithm, have a significant influence on social reality. While it is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the website, the scope of its power and the way in which it is exercised inspire a lot of controversy. By deciding what is to be promoted to the users or removed from their sight, it also has an impact on such seemingly unrelated concepts as “power”, “knowledge”, “authority” or “identity”.
