TYTUŁ ORYGINALNY: Le respect des droits fondamentaux des sujets atteints de la maladie d’Alzheimer Znaczna część populacji francuskiej cierpi na chorobę Alzheimera lub choroby neurodegeneracyjne. Choroby te sprawiają, że osoby starsze są bardziej narażone na rozmaite niebezpieczeństwa, a ich zdolności intelektualne są mniej wydajne. Istnieje pokusa, by decyzje podejmować bez konsultacji z nimi. Tymczasem nie należy zapominać, że zanim osoby te całkowicie stracą rozeznanie, są w stanie dokonywać własnych wyborów. Dlatego najnowsze francuskie przepisy gwarantują liczne prawa starszym ludziom i chronią ich przed szkodliwymi działaniami. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie potrzeby lepszej ochrony osób starszych i chorych. Najnowsze reformy prawa francuskiego dążą do wzmocnienia ich ochrony i zaprzestania ich traktowania jak dzieci. Celem regulacji jest potępienie wszelkiego rodzaju dyskryminacji oraz troska o prawa osób starszych i chorych.

ORIGINAL TITLE: Le respect des droits fondamentaux des sujets atteints de la maladie d’Alzheimer An important part of the French population suffers from Alzheimer’s disease or neurodegenerative diseases. These affections make old people more vulnerable and make their intellectual capacities less efficient. The temptation is important to make every decision without consulting them. Even though, before they completely lose their mind, they are able to make their own choices. That is why the recent French laws guarantee numerous rights to old people and protect them from actions that undermine them. This study suggests protecting better old and sick persons. The most recent reforms help to strengthen their rights. The provisions tend to make them responsible by not treating them like children. The aim of the regulation is to condemn any kind of discrimination while showing concern for the rights of the elderly and the sick.
