The attitude of primate Józef Glemp to the political opposition was re-served and cautious. His view of the activities of Solidarity and its underground was due to several fundamental factors: the will to continue the line of action of Primate Wyszyński, a critical evaluation of the activities of political circles opera-ting within Solidarity (above all KOR) and many leaders of the said social move-ment and vision of the Church's activity in the last decade of the PRL.
