Artykuł jest próbą analizy jednego z ważnych, a do tego trudniejszych problemów współczesnych mediów, przede wszystkim mediów masowych, ale nie tylko – mowy nienawiści. Zjawisko mowy nienawiści we współczesnych mediach, powszechnie uważane jest za przejaw zła, które może doprowadzić do nieprzewidywalnych społecznie skutków, takich jak szerzenie stereotypów, popularyzacja treści wulgarnych i obraźliwych, eskalacja zachowań niebezpiecznych. Mowa nienawiści jest także postępującym zagrożeniem dla kultury kraju, w którym nie stosuje się na co dzień mechanizmów ją ograniczających. Autorka w swoim referacie, na podstawie konkretnych przykładów, stara się przeanalizować i zrozumieć zjawisko; zastanawia się nad mechanizmami, które mogłyby przeciwdziałać jego powstawaniu, ale też i nad mechanizmami rodzącymi tego typu wypowiedzi w komunikacji masowej i interpersonalnej.

The article is an attempt to analyze one of most the important, and more difficult, problems of contemporary media, especially mass media, but not only the hate speech. The phenomenon of hate speech in contemporary media is widely regarded as a manifestation of evil, which can lead to unpredictable social effects, such as the spread of stereotypes, the promotion of vulgar and offensive content, and the escalation of dangerous behaviors. Hate speech is also a progressive threat to the culture of the country, in which the mechanisms limiting it are not used on a daily basis. In her paper, the author tries to analyze and understand the phenomenon based on specific examples; she wonders about the mechanisms that could counteract its emergence, but also about the mechanisms that bring about this kind of expression in mass and interpersonal communication.
