In 2016 the author carried out conservation work on three Karaim manuscripts and old prints: a 19th century mejuma of Crimea, an 18th/19th century manuscript from Lithuania and a printed prayer book published in 1736/1737 in Gozleve and containing handwritten sections drafted in Halicz and dating from the 19th century. The project was organised by the Polish Karaim Association and financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The texts earmarked for conservation were in very poor condition. The main purpose of the treatment was to combat harmful processes damaging the materials and to secure them against further deterioration. Extensive intervention was required to restore their structure and constituent parts to functional value.
