Doradztwo zawodowe jako forma działania społecznego i pomocy nie jest wolne od instytucjonalnych uwikłań. Realizowane na podstawie centralnej polityki państwa może stanowić wsparcie jednostek w osiąganiu dojrzałości w wyborach edukacyjno-zawodowych bądź przeciwnie – biernie sprzyjać ich infantylizacji. Decyzje oparte na racjonalnych przesłankach i autotelicznych wartościach mogą zapobiegać problemom związanym z budowaniem tożsamości zawodowej, dobrostanem psychicznym, a także tranzycją na rynek pracy. W tym kontekście niewystarczające od lat wsparcie psychologiczno­­‑pedagogiczne młodzieży jest wyrazem niewydolności instytucji centralnych i samorządowych w tym zakresie. Konsekwencje dotyczące nieprzemyślanych i nieracjonalnych wyborów edukacyjnych i zawodowych ponosi młodzież. Celem niniejszego tekstu jest analiza sytuacji doradztwa zawodowego w latach 2016–2017, czyli w okresie poprzedzającym reformę.

Career counselling as a form of social activity and help is not free from institutional involvement. Implemented on the basis of central state policy, it can support individuals in reaching maturity in educational and vocational choices, or on the contrary, passively support their infantilization. Decisions based on rational premises and autotelic values can prevent problems related to building professional identity, mental well-being, as well as transitions to the labour market. In this context, the insufficient psychological and pedagogical support of young people for years is an expression of the inefficiency of central and local government institutions in this respect. The consequences of ill-considered and irrational educational and vocational choices are borne by young people. The purpose of this text is to analyze the situation of career counselling in 2016–2017, i.e. in the period preceding the reform.
