Technology is moving forward all the time. The whole pursuit of access to technology means that the dominant type of society is starting to be called the network society. People are starting to spend more and more time in front of their phones or computer screens, browsing the Internet, playing games or chatting. Memes, initially considered to be just funny pictures, are also becoming an integral part of the Internet. The aim of this article is to show the role that memes play in social communication. Starting with that, what a meme is, how memes can be divided, and how they are used in everyday life.
