The article will compile the assumptions of civil society, in the context of activities undertaken in theframework of penitentiary rehabilitation. The considerations undertaken will take into account two levels of analysis of the participation of representatives of society in interactions with inmates - the possibility of the participation of „outsiders” and the actions taken inside penitentiary institutions. Thus, the possibilities of conscious and autonomous participation of citizens in public life will be presented, considering the legal possibilities of participation in interactions carried out under conditions of solitary confinement. In addition, penitentiary interactions will be analyzed, referring to the current legislation, among other formulated goals of rehabilitation programs.
