Artykuł obrazuje zaangażowanie Niemiec w problemy Afganistanu. Relacje niemiecko -afgańskie uległy dynamice na przełomie XIX i XX wieku i przybrały wielostronny charakter, m.in. polityczny, ekonomiczny, naukowy, kulturalny. Powstały organizacje niemiecko-afgańskie, niemieckie fundacje polityczne mają swoje filie w Afganistanie. Aktywność Niemiec wzrosła po ataku na World Trade Center 11 września 2001 r. i było konsekwencją zobowiązań sojuszniczych Berlina. Niemcy zdecydowały się na wojskową i cywilną obecność w Afganistanie, podjęły się również działań dyplomatycznych na rzecz stabilizacji Afganistanu – państwa upadłego. Konfl ikt w Afganistanie stał się przedmiotem dyskusji społecznej w RFN. Niemcy podkreślają chęć wycofania się z Afganistanu.

The article depicts the involvement of Germany in the problems of Afghanistan. The German-Afghan relations have become dynamic at the turn of the 19th and 20th century taking on a multilateral character (political, economic, scientifi c, cultural, etc.). German-Afghan organisations have been established and German political foundations have opened their branches in Afghanistan. The activity of Germany increased after the attack on the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001 and was a consequence of Berlin obligations towards the alliance. Germany decided on the military and civil presence in Afghanistan and they also undertook diplomatic actions to the benefi t of the stabilization in Afghanistan – a fallen state.The confl ict in Afghanistan has become the subject of social discussion in the Federal Republic of Germany. They emphasise the will of withdrawing from Afghanistan.
