Jihadyści, fundamentaliści czy ekstremiści straszą, konsekwentnie realizują politykę chaosu w krajach europejskich werbując umęczonych wolnością Europejczyków. Coraz większa łatwość kontaktów, masowa komunikacja, internet prowadzą do spotkań i zderzeń kulturowych, a szoku kulturowego doznać można nawet na odległość, bez bezpośredniego kontaktu. Kanałami tymi napływają bowiem produkty kultury konsumpcyjnej, skomercjalizowanej i niezależnie od tego, czy są one amerykańskiego, czy ponadnarodowego pochodzenia kształtują kosmopolityczną kulturę i styl życia. Choć jest ona uboga w warstwie intelektualnej i pozornie nie zagraża kulturze wysokiej, coraz częściej rodzi jednak pytania i obawy o negatywny wpływ na tożsamość kulturową państw. Również regionalizm prowadzący jak w przypadku Unii Europejskiej do integracji politycznej, gospodarczej, a także kulturalnej wywołuje obawy o skutki dla tożsamości narodowej państw członkowskich. Do niebezpieczeństw dotyczących kultury symbolicznej dochodzą niepokoje o stan dóbr kultury materialnej zagrożony ciągle przez konflikty zbrojne (Irak, Afganistan, Bliski Wschód, Afryka Północna), a także przez grabieże, kradzieże, przemyt i zniszczenia.

Jihadist fundamentalists or extremists threaten and consistently implement a policy of chaos in European countries recruiting Europeans, who are tired of freedom. The increasing ease of making contact, mass communication and internet lead to meetings and cultural impacts, and the culture shock can be experienced even at a distance, without a direct contact. Those channels are used to transfer products of consumer and commercialised culture, , and regardless of whether they are of American or supranational origin, theyshape a cosmopolitan culture and lifestyle. Although it is poor intellectually and seemingly does not threaten high culture, more and more often, however, it raises questions and concerns about the negative impact on the cultural identity of nations. Also, the regionalism leading to the political, economic, and cultural integration (as in the case of the European Union) raises concerns about the impact on the national identity of the Member States. There are worries not only about dangers to the symbolic culture, but alsoabout the state of the material culture constantly threatened by armed conflicts (Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East, North Africa), as well as the looting, theft, smuggling and destruction.
