Artykuł dotyczy globalnych stosunków sił w latach 1992-2016. Został oparty na raportach potęgo metrycznych publikowanych od kilku lat w Polsce. Na wstępie autor wyjaśnia pojęcie i istotę międzynarodowego układu sił, odróżniając go od systemu międzynarodowego i polityczno-terytorialnego status quo. Następnie przedstawiana jest potęgo metryczna analiza międzynarodowego układu sił po „zimnej wojnie”. Analizowane są stosunki sił pomiędzy państwami w zakresie potęgi ogólnej, wojskowej i geopolitycznej. Na przykładzie różnych wskaźników pomiarowych przedstawiane są stosunki sił we współczesnym świecie. Na ich podstawie sygnalizowane są zasadnicze tendencje w stosunkach międzynarodowych. Autor podkreśla przydatność metod empirycznych w badaniach międzynarodowego układu sił. Wskazuje na ich znaczenie w polityce i strategii bezpieczeństwa narodowego.

The article concerns global relations of forces in the years 1992-2016. It was based on the power metrics reports published for several years in Poland. At the outset, the author explains the concept and essence of the international alignment of forces, distinguishing it from the international system and political status quo. Then, there is presented an empirical analysis of the international alignment of forces after the „cold war”. There are analyzed the relations of forces between states in the field of general, military and geopolitical power. The relations of forces in the contemporary world are presented on the example of various measurement indicators. On their basis, there are signaled the basic tendencies in international relations. The author emphasizes the usefulness of empirical methods in the study of the international alignment of forces. He points out their importance in national security policy and strategy.
