Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą pokazania, w jaki sposób sztuka odpowiada na problemy współczesności, na ile jest w stanie uświadomić odbiorcy warunki, w jakich żyjemy, oraz wciąż rozwijający się stan kryzysu klimatycznego. W artykule koncentruję się na bioarcie, prezentując wybranych artystów, którzy w swoich pracach pokazują degradację ekosystemów, a także starają się pokazać relację człowiek–natura. Przywołując metaforę Matki Gai, podążam za analizami ekoetyki, by wskazać ludzkie powinności i odpowiedzialność za obecny stan rzeczy. W swoich analizach przede wszystkim staram się pokazać artystyczne rozdarcie pomiędzy samą sztuką a aktywizmem oraz rolę sztuki w dzisiejszym świecie targanym kryzysami.

This article is an attempt to show how art responds to contemporary problems, to what extent it is able to make the viewer aware of the conditions in which we live and the still developing state of climate crisis. In the article I focus on bioart, presenting selected artists who show the degradation of ecosystems in their works and try to show the relationship between man and nature. Invoking the metaphor of Mother Gaia, I follow the analyses of ecoethics to point out human duties and responsibilities for the current state of affairs. In my analyses, I primarily try to show the artistic rift between art itself and activism, and the role of art in today's crisis-torn world.
