CONTEMPORARY RUSSIAN AND SLAVIC PHRASEOLOGY(SYNCHRONY AND DIACHRONY) Summary The article deals with the general problems of contemporary Russian and Slavic phrase-ology. Such problems as the evolution of defi nitions of the central terms of this linguistical discipline (phraseologism, phraseological unit, idiom), its boundaries, the national specifi cs, cognitiv potencial and typological universality, the translatibility, the variability of the phra-seology are especially regarded. The relations between idioms and proverbs, collocations and so called winged words are also interpreted. Diachronically the author proposes systematical methods of the comparative, historical and etymological analyses of Russian and Slavic phraseology and gives concrete examples of such an analyses.  WSPÓŁCZESNA FRAZEOLOGIA ROSYJSKA I SŁOWIAŃSKA(SYNCHRONIA I DIACHRONIA) Streszczenie Artykuł porusza ogólne problemy wspóczesnej frazeologii rosyskiej i słowiańskiej. Szcze-gółowemu rozpatrzeniu poddano takie problemy, jak ewolucja defi nicji głównych terminów tej dyscypliny lingwistycznej (frazeologizm, związek frazeologiczny, idiom), jej granice, nacechowanie narodowe, potencjal kognitywny i uniwersalność typologiczna, kwestia prze-tłumaczalności, wariantowość frazeologiczna. Autor porusza także kwestię relacji między idiomami i przysłowiami, kolokacjami i skrzydlatymi słowami. Autor proponuje zastoso-wanie systematycznej metody diachronicznej i daje konkretne przykłady porównawczej, historycznej i etymologicznej analizy frazeologii rosyjskiej i słowiańskiej.
