CZYTAJĄCE CIAŁO WE WSPÓŁCZESNEJ PROZIE ROSYJSKIEJ Streszczenie Praca poświęcona jest zagadnieniu odbioru literatury przez bohaterów współczesnej prozy rosyjskiej. W centrum zainteresowania znajduje się psychofi zyczny kontakt postaci z książką, przede wszystkim reakcje somatyczne, jakie wywołuje lektura. Analizie problemu towarzyszą odwołania do esejów, w których powyższa kwestia była poruszana (O. Mandelsztam, R. Barthes, S. Sontag). Lektura przedstawiana jest we współczesnej prozie antynomicznie: jako przyjemność i rozkosz oraz jako praca, współtworzenie. W związku z tym badaniu poddano okoliczności towarzyszące czytaniu i wskazano dominujące sytuacje: wybór miejsca (łóżko, kanapa, stół) i czasu lektury (wieczór, noc), posiłki wzmacniające przyjemność czytania. Poruszono także kwestię uzależnienia od czytania, która przybiera formę ucieczki od rzeczywistości oraz wskazano reakcje somatyczne najczęściej występujące podczas lektury: łzy, drżenie, bicie serca, strach, uginanie się nóg, brak tchu. Jednocześnie zwrócono uwagę na odosobnienie, bezruch, a nawet odrętwienie ciała w trakcie lektury, które towarzyszą procesowi jej przyswajania.Korzystając ze sformułowań Mandesztama i Nabokowa, można proces czytania określić również terminem „wykonanie”, który zakłada identyfi kację odbiorcy nie tyle z bohaterem, ile z autorem utworu. Wejście w taką relację może występować w formie współczucia albo symulacji. W tym też znaczeniu czytelnik z jednej strony staje się współautorem czytanej książki, z drugiej zaś, czytelnikiem samego siebie. THE READING BODY IN CONTEMPORARY RUSSIAN PROSE Resume The present paper describes the problem of reception of literature by the characters presented in contemporary Russian prose. The major interest is given to various aspects of psychophysical contact of the character with the book, especially to the somatic reactions caused by the reading. The analysis is supported by the references to the essays dedicated to the problem of reading by Osip Mandelstam, Roland Barthes, and Susan Sontag. Process of reading has been presented in contemporary prose autonomously, both as a delight and pleasure, and as work and co-creation. The present work scrutinizes the circum-stances of reading and points to the dominant situations that include the choice of location (bed, sofa, table) and time of reading (evening, night), as well as meals that enhance pleasure of reading. The problem of addiction to reading is analyzed as a form of escape from reality. Among the most frequent somatic reactions that accompany reading are: tears, trembling, palpitations, fear, weakness at the knees, and breathlessness. On the other hand, the author pays attention to phenomena like isolation, stillness, and numbness of the body during the process of assimilation of the literary text. Mandelstam and Nabokov proposed the term “execution” (performance) that implicates that the reader identifi es himself/herself rather with the author of the literary work than with its character. The readers’ reactions could range from compassion to simulation. This way the reader turns to be the co-author of the literary work that he/she reads, and at the same time he/she becomes the reader of himself/herself.
