Izabela Nowak Uniwersytet Śląski, Katowice, Poland [e-mail]   O KSZTAŁTOWANIU SIĘ KOMPETENCJI BILINGWALNEJ Streszczenie Kompetencja bilingwalna została zinterpretowana jako rozszerzenie struktury myślenia i działania językowego (kompetencja językowa i kompetencja komunikatywna) o dodat-kowy język obcy. Schemat bilingwalny opiera się na wzajemnej korelacji języka ojczystego i języka obcego ucznia (nawet jeśli jest to dla niego jeden z języków obcych) w jego modelu umysłowym (etap podporządkowany ojczystemu myśleniu, skorelowany z nim i współrzędnie złożony). Jednocześnie w specyfice kompetencji polsko-rosyjskiej silnie zaakcentowano determinizm ojczystego myślenia, języka, kultury, zwyczaju społecznego. W związku z tym skuteczność bilingwalna polsko-rosyjska w znacznej mierze promuje zachowanie, które ma na celu przełamanie transferu i myślenia zaprogramowanego przez bliskie - a jednak odmienne - postrzeganie świata. Niezależnie od podejścia komunikacyjnego i w ramach niego efektywność procesu dydaktycznego w omawianym zakresie w tak bliskich sobie językach może opierać się - paradoksalnie - na świadomym kontraście uwzględniającym specyfikę obu kultur i języków, co pokazano na konkretnych przykładach.  ON FORMATION OF BILINGUAL COMPETENCE Summary Bilingual competence has been interpreted as the extension of thinking and language activity structure (language competence and communicative competence) through addition of another foreign language. The bilingual scheme is based on a mutual correlation of the mother tongue and the learner’s foreign language (even if it is one of foreign languages s/he knows) in his/her mental model (i.e. stage controlled by thinking in mother tongue, correlated with it and coordinate). Also, with reference to specificity of Polish-Russian competence, a strong emphasis has been put on determinism of mother-tongue thinking, language, culture and social habit. Therefore bilingual effectiveness promotes to a large extent behavior which is to overcome the transfer and the way of thinking programmed by close but still different perception of the world. Regardless of the communicative approach and according to it, ef-fectiveness of teaching the discussed content area can, paradoxically, be based on deliberate contrast taking into account specificity of both cultures and languages, which is illustrated by the examples provided by the author.
