Ponadto wypowiedź precedensowa, której nie towarzyszy w tekście przekładu komentarz translatologiczny, może zostać przez czytelnika niezauważona lub źle zrozumiana, co w konsekwencji może negatywnie wpływać na czytelniczy odbiór i interpretację tekstu. PHRASE-PRECEDENT AS A FACTOR HINDERING THE PROCESS OF TRANSLATION (VERA PAVLOVNA’S NINTH DREAM BY VICTOR PELEVIN IN POLISH TRANSLATION) Summary In this article, with the aid of examples from Victor  Pelevin’s short story entitled Vera Pavlovna’s Ninth Dream, the author argues that, despite the closeness of languages and cultures of the original and the translation, the phrases-precedent used by the writer in the short story make the process of translation more complicated. Moreover, phrase-precedent, if not accompanied by a translatological comment in the text of translation, may be unnoticed by the reader or misunderstood,
