This paper concerns the perception of dialects by a selected group of Internet users, namely young women who are mothers or expectant mothers. This social group’s views on linguistic issues are particularly important in the context of discussions on the future of dialects or any post-dialectal forms. The material base is a record of three online discussions on territorial varieties of the Polish language. The analysis of the posts tells, among others, about how Internet users assess dialects, which dialectal features they can distinguish, what they think about their children using a dialect, how dialect is acquired nowadays. The refl ections presented in this paper fall into the stream of research on language awareness.
