DOI: 10.19251/rtnp/2018.10(20)Abstract:Regardless of cultural, historical and socioeconomic contexts, the family is still the basic constituent of social culture and the functions it performs are still indispensible. The incentive for developing family’s assistantship stems from the necessity to react to social problems – the idea of providing support to the family facing a crisis, especially to the children, as well as the willingness to implement the forms that would mobilize the family to become autonomous. Contemporarily, assisting a family has become a structural-organizational solution, which is carried out in terms of the so-called ”resource-based job”. What appears helpful for assistants when working with family on many problems, may be the very understanding of the phenomenon of the client’s learned helplessness and also their construction of independent ethics. Non-standard nature of family assistants’ tasks needs continual development as well as looking for new solutions, while bearing in mind both the client’s and their own possibilities.Keywords: social worker, family assistant, family, supportAbstrakt:Niezależnie od kontekstu kulturowego, historycznego i społeczno-ekonomicznego rodzina jest nadal podstawowym elementem społecznej struktury, a pełnione przez nią funkcje są nie do zastąpienia. Bodźcem rozwoju asystentury rodziny jest konieczność reagowania na problemy społeczne, idea realizowania faktycznej pomocy rodzinie w kryzysie, zwłaszcza dzieciom, chęć prowadzenia formy aktywizującej rodzinę, w celu doprowadzenia do jej usamodzielnienia. Asystowanie rodzinie stało się współcześnie rozwiązaniem strukturalno – organizacyjnym, realizowanym w perspektywie tzw. pracy na zasobach. Pomocne asystentowi w pracy z rodziną, z wieloma problemami, może być rozumienie zjawiska wyuczonej bezradności u klienta, a także dopracowanie się etyki niezależnej. Niestandardowość zadań asystenta rodziny wymaga ciągłego doskonalenia się i poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań z uwzględnieniem możliwości klienta i własnych.Słowa kluczowe: pracownik socjalny, asystent rodziny, rodzina, wsparcie
