Esej podejmuje problem sposobu odbioru piękna i kiczu, prób definiowania piękna i tworzenia jego kryteriów oraz analogii między pięknem (oraz jego odbiorem) a językiem (oraz jego użyciem) w nawiązaniu do teorii gramatyki transformacyjno-generatywnej Noama Chomsky’ego. Wskazane zostały również pewne analogie między zmysłem estetycznym a zmysłem moralnym.

The present essay is focused on the problem of the perception of beauty and kitsch, as well as on ways to define beauty and work out its criteria. The author points to analogies between beauty (and its perception) and language (and its use), as seen in the context of the theory of transformational generative grammar proposed by Noam Chomsky. Certain analogies between the aesthetic sense and the moral one have also been observed.
