Organisation efficiency is the function of its resources. For a long time prac- titioners and theoreticians of management have pointed at a human factor being the element determining the effectiveness of enterprise targets. Contemporary literature also points to personnel related process as the source of company success. Particular role in this process is assigned to competencies, which are human dispositions in the field of knowledge, skills and attitudes, which allow for realisation of professional tasks at the appropriate level. Authors of the hereby publication pay attention to appropriate recruitment methods and personnel selection, as the way to achieve organisation targets. Additionally, authors indicate that recruitment and selection process, which is based on competencies, allow to win personnel, who will be able to meet the requirements as to their education, qualifications and predisposition.
