Recently, the number of bilingual or even multilingual contrastive text and discourse analyses has been on the rise in Europe. Attempts are being made to grasp the common features as well as dissimilarities in terms of several specific linguistic phenomena, often demonstrated against the broader background of social and cultural contexts. However, contrastive analyses encompassing two parallel linguistic disciplines in two different fields of study are still in the initial phase. The authors of this article carry out the contrastive analysis of the selected aspects of the Polish and the German linguistics. In this context, the analysis of relative positioning of style and discourse, as presented in the two fundamental publications on Polish stylistics from the German linguistics perspective seems to be the most interesting one. Reciprocal references between style and discourse are also discussed against the background of cognitive traditions in the two areas of study. The authors also bring up a question to what extent the two aforementioned guides to the Polish style, widely considered to be representative, embark on fundamental questions on style as such as well as some notions in the field of stylistics and research traditions in the given field.

Styl, dyskurs i ich pozycjonowanie – uwagi na temat dwóch podstawowych dzieł z zakresu stylistyki polonistycznej z perspektywy badań germanistycznych Praca jest kontynuacją zamieszczonego w tym zeszycie artykułu pt. „Zwei polonistische ‚Cicerone’ durch die polnische Stilistik: Anmerkungen aus germanistischer Perspektive“. Wielojęzykowych analiz kontrastywnych z zakresu badań nad tekstem i dyskursem na gruncie europejskim stale przybywa. Podejmowane są próby uchwycenia cech wspólnych, ale i różnic dotyczących poszczególnych zjawisk językowych ukazywanych często na szerszym tle społecznym i kulturowym. Jednakże analizy kontrastywne obejmujące dwie analogiczne dyscypliny lingwistyczne w różnych obszarach badawczych znajdują się nadal jeszcze w początkowej fazie rozwoju. W niniejszym artykule autorki poddają analizie kontrastywnej wybrane aspekty lingwistyki polonistycznej i germanistycznej. Szczególnie interesujące w tym kontekście wydaje się przeanalizowanie relacyjnego pozycjonowania stylu i dyskursu w dwóch podstawowych publikacjach polonistycznych z zakresu badań nad stylem z perspektywy badań germanistycznych oraz przedyskutowanie i objaśnienie tła wzajemnych odniesień obu wymienionych kategorii z uwzględnieniem tradycji poznawczych tych obszarów badawczych. W pracy autorki skupiają się ponadto na próbie znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytanie, na ile wymienione dwa przewodniki z zakresu badań nad stylem, określane przez polonistów jako reprezentatywne, podejmują fundamentalne kwestie pojęcia stylu, a także zagadnienia z zakresu stylistyki, historii badań nad stylem oraz tradycji badawczych tej dyscypliny.
