W artykule omówiono system finansowania szkolnictwa wyższego w podziale na finansowanie działalności dydaktycznej, badawczej i pomocy materialnej dla studentów oraz zasady finansowania wynagrodzeń. Wyodrębnione zostały zasady finansowania z dotacji budżetu państwa oraz źródeł zewnętrznych. Przedstawiono także mechanizmy składające się na system finansowania, kryteria bądź algorytmy służące do rozdziału środków oraz wysokość dotacji przeznaczonych na poszczególne formy finansowania (strukturę wydatków budżetowych).

The system of the financing of the institutions of higher education in Poland broken into financing of teaching, research activities, assistance to students and the principles of the renumeration plan are discussed in the paper. Regulations regarding state allocations and external funding sources are specified. Also, mechanism which constitute the system of financing, the criteria or algorithm of funds allocations and the amount of subsidies for the specified forms of financing (the structure of budgetary allocations) are presented.
