W artykule poddano analizie kwestię tożsamości uniwersytetu. Autorka próbuje odpowiedzieć na pytania: czy współczesne szkoły wyższe, które osiągnęły duży stopień zróżnicowania, mają tradycyjne cechy przypisywane uniwersytetowi, czy cele i zadania uczelni uległy zmianie oraz jaki jest kierunek tych zmian.

The article analyses the identity of the university. The author attempts to answer the following questions: Do contemporary higher education institutions, which have become highly diverse, still have the traditional features ascribed to the university?; Have the goals and tasks of higher education institutions changed and, if so, in what direction?
