Abstracts

EN

Installation art is a fi eld no longer reserved for artists only. There are architects, who create micro-spaces on the border of art and architecture. Deriving from both domains, they create spaces which may change the context and transform the perception of their surroundings. Immense design solutions make public space installations ambiguous and versatile. Starting from symbolic, temporary ones, which may become a manifesto or the critique of architecture condition, to multi-functional ones, being a meeting place and activating the space in which they appear.

Sztuka instalacji nie jest już tylko domeną artystów. Zajmują się nią również architekci, tworząc mikroprzestrzenie na pograniczu sztuki i architektury. Czerpiąc z obydwu dziedzin, kreują miejsca, które mogą zmieniać kontekst i transformować odbiór przestrzeni. Mnogość rozwiązań powoduje, że instalacje w miejskiej przestrzeni mogą mieć różne znaczenie, funkcje i odbiór. Od symbolicznych, czasowych, które są manifestem i krytyką kondycji architektury, po użytkowe, wielofunkcyjne, będące miejscem spotkań i aktywizujące przestrzeń, w której się pojawiają.
