The main subject in the article is a statement to contemporary events that the poet, the humanist and philosopher expresses in his poem "The Chess". As the humanist and artist, the poet tries to give a commentary on surprising and shocking technological progress, and its consequences for the culture and humanity. The poem "The Chess" is a poetic commentary on the chess match between world champion Garry Casparov and newest product of IBM, computer called "Deep Blue", in which the man was beaten. The poem tells about the adventures of thinking man who after the meeting with a computer at the chess table, finds out that the possibilities of his intelligence are limited. The man is showed in the poem as the player who tries to destroy his troublesome rival in the game and the fight for a leader position.
