The article discusses the exceptional communication strategies of two Polish shows (Zapytaj Beczkę and Z Dupy) published on the Internet platform YouTube. The authors (Krzysztof Gonciarz and Maciej Dabrowski) and the participating audience often use hate speech, trolling, hating and joke. These four categories intersect, which seems to be typical of the postmodern attitude which is often ironic, ludic and transgressive. On the one hand the communiques situated on the border of hating and hate speech are creatively used – as controversial language conventions – but on the other hand they are also important themes, commented directly by the showmans. Analysis leads to the conclusion that hating and hate speech should not be assessed superficially – a thorough understanding of the context and connotations is inevitable. The article presents the hypothesis related to the function of messages of this kind and their potential consequences. The identity created by Gonciarz relates to the traditional jester figure – someone who uses inappropriate jokes and offensive vocabulary but at the same time forces his adversaries to reflection. Dabrowski’s attitude may be partially described by the clown metaphor of a clown, who offers not very subtle, sometimes even unpleasant, but still extremely attractive dose of humor.
