This paper analyzed assumptions, possibilities and limits of an education in point of view of philosophy. In the introduction the author points out the problem with terminological definition of the education. He highlights the ambiguous terms such as “education”, “training”, “philosophy of education” and so on. He presents the education as a specific human value and emphasizes that the decisive criterion of education is an axiological criterion. Author draws attention to the negative consequences from disharmony and disproportion between education and training in the process of education. He also contemplates on aim of education in the era of globalization. In conclusion, the author sets out some ideas of education, which aim is “homo creator”.
