Huge scientific and technical progress bringing great benefit to societies had simultaneously brought a huge threat to humanity. The feature of universal threat to humanity is an environmental degradation. Industrial human activities and natural factors dangerously infringed the balance of nature. We are indeed witnesses of various environmental catastrophes’ Due to various actions there are number of industrial risks of climate, which change unfavourably. Such risks may include: use of dangerous industrial technologies leading to changes in the atmosphere (liquidation of ozone shell, warming, ultraviolet emissions). The greenhouse effect and its associated increase of greenhouse gas emissions undoubtedly constitute enormous threat to national security. The article discusses greenhouse mitigation activities and their impact on security. Contains methods that can be used to limit the harmful effects of greenhouse gases. It also presents a strategy to adapt societies to changing climatic conditions, focused on the policies and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Poland.
