Zbliżające się 500-lecie Reformacji czyni naglącym pytanie o stan dialogu ekumenicznego Kościołów i wspólnot chrześcijańskich. Rzeczywistość początku XXI stulecia przynosi inne dylematy epistemologiczne niż epoka humanizmu, epoka żywego fermentu społecznego (wykształconej konceptualnie) schyłku mediewalnego Christianitas. Dlatego w duchowej sytuacji teraźniejszości, nacechowanej odkryciami naukowymi i wnikliwym przebadaniem źródeł luterańskiej reformy Kościoła i pisarskiego opus Lutra, bezwzględnie konieczne staje się postawienie i rozstrzygnięcie kilku zasadniczych kwestii. Dobrze byłoby np. odpowiedzieć na pytanie, na ile, opierając się na obecnym stanie wiedzy naukowej o mediewalnej Christianitas, uniwersytecie i metodzie scholastycznej, wpływie orientalnej kultury hellenistycznej na wykształcenie się ideowych zrębów nowożytności oraz na podstawie nowych odkryć w sprawie koncepcji teologii Akwinaty i metody historyczno-krytycznej, Kościoły dialogu ekumenicznego są w stanie zweryfikować fundacyjne stanowisko teologiczne Marcina Lutra i dokonać realnego postępu teologicznego? Na ile również są w stanie postąpić w ekumenicznym dialogu w sprawie imperatywu osadzania wiary teologa w wierze Kościoła Chrystusa, pozostającego Kościołem Ducha Świętego?

In the context of the upcoming celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and modern epistemological dilemmas of the present postmodernity, the author shall submit the question of the reality of ecumenical dialogue. How far, basing on the state of scientific knowledge concerning medieval Christendom, the University and the scholastic method, the influence of oriental Hellenistic culture on the education of the ideological foundations of modernity and based on new discoveries on Aquinas concept of theology and historical-critical method, the Churches of the ecumenical dialogue are able to verify the foundation of Martin Luther’s theological position and make real progress in theology? Are they able to make progress in ecumenical dialogue in the imperative of diagnosis of the theologian faith in the faith of the Church of Christ and the Church of the Holy Spirit?
