The infirmity of the Economist Brothers, or the nature of laws

The aim of the article is to identify the basic sources ofweakness in economics as a scientific discipline in the effective diagnosisand prediction of the future course of economic events andtheir consequences. In other words, the causes of the titular infirmityof economists, as well as the multitude of opinions, positions, and finallytheories typical of this discipline, occurring in parallel, at thesame time, in relation to the same periods and economic and marketevents. The main thesis of the article assumes that the basic reason forthe inability of economists to unanimously diagnose past economicevents and accurately decide on their future course is the very natureof economic phenomena and processes, implying the ambiguity andvagueness of the views expressed, while the parallel multiplicity of viewsis a simple consequence of the nature of economics. as an inherentlyheterogeneous discipline, which requires the cooperation of the communityand the acceptance of different views, and not dividing theminto the right ones and the negated ones, i.e. those that do not deserverecognition. In connection with the research objective outlined in thisway and the main thesis formulated, the conducted analyzes are ofa non-reactive nature, in which methods such as content analysis andhistorical-comparative research were used.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja podstawowych źródeł słabości ekonomii jako dyscypliny nauki w skutecznej diagnozie oraz przewidywaniu przyszłego przebiegu zdarzeń ekonomicznych i ich konsekwencji. Inaczej ujmując – przyczyn tytułowej niemocy ekonomistów, a także typowej dla tej dyscypliny mnogości opinii, stanowisk, wreszcie teorii, występujących paralelnie, w tym samym czasie w odniesieniu do tych samych okresów oraz zdarzeń gospodarczych i rynkowych. Główna teza artykułu przyjmuje, iż podstawową przyczyną niemożności ekonomistów do zgodnego zdiagnozowania przeszłych zdarzeń ekonomicznych oraz trafnego opowiedzenia się co do przyszłego ich przebiegu jest sama natura zjawisk i procesów gospodarczych, implikująca wieloznaczność i nieostrość głoszonych poglądów, zaś równoległa wielość poglądów to prosta konsekwencja charakteru ekonomii jako ze swej istoty dyscypliny heterogenicznej, co wymaga współpracy środowiska i akceptacji różnych poglądów, a nie dzielenia ich na te słuszne i te negowane, czyli niezasługujące na uznanie. W związku z tak nakreślonym celem badawczym oraz sformułowaną tezą główną prowadzone analizy mają charakter badań niereaktywnych, w ramach których wykorzystano takie metody, jak analiza treści (content analysis) oraz badania historyczno-porównawcze (historical-comparative research).
