Starting from the nineties, higher education is subject to significant changes, for which a legal basis was created by the „Higher Education Act” from 12 September 1990, which regulated its functioning. Since then, we may observe tremendous growth of the quantitative development of schools and fiercer competition. Changes, that can be observed, affect on both: levels and fields of study. Since 2002, which was the last year of the baby boom, we may observe gradual decrease in recruitment of students at universities. To deterioration of universities condition contribute: the eco- nomic slowdown and increased of competition in the economy, that will translate into a reduction in the quantitative growth of the middle class and reduce its financial resources, but also rising unemployment among graduates of higher education.
