The pig production concentration process in all the world countries is very dynamic. The main reason for that fact is not only the significant technological development but also the constant aspiration of producers to gain maximal profits. The number of pigs and pig density is still growing and provoke to origin the externalities from pig production. The research shows that in the world exist 3 major regions of pig production concentration: Europe, north-west and south Asia, central and north America. But the most ecological threats exist in European countries because the externalities of pig production in this region are the biggest on the world.

W artykule przedstawiono problem wpływu produkcji świń na środowisko naturalne. Autorzy poddali dyskusji również relatywnie nowe problemy związane z produkcją trzody, jak dewastacja środowiska oraz społeczny koszt jego odnowy.
