The authors try to define the specific economic conditions of pork production in the world. Differentiation of pig production in regional and species scheme was also analysed and some predictions of the world pig market in the future presented. This paper presents also the regions that have particular conditions to develop pork production and to be leaders on the world pork market.

W artykule analizowano uwarunkowania ekonomiczne produkcji mięsa wieprzowego na świecie. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na koszty produkcji w ujęciu rodzajowym oraz w układzie regionalnym.
