Artykuł jest analizą tekstu 30. spośród 50 Homilii duchowych Makarego-Symeona (Pseudo-Makarego), ważnego, choć tajemniczego, czwartowiecznego autora monastycznego. Wybór tej homilii podyktowany jest ścisłym związkiem, jaki w niej zachodzi pomiędzy pneumatologią a chrystologią. Ich wzajemne przenikanie się znajduje wyraz w interesujących i uzupełniających się obrazach, w szczególności: Chrystusa nadającego powtórne narodziny niczym ojciec, Ducha Świętego rodzącego z matczynego łona i Chrystusa-malarza, odnawiającego ludzkie oblicza. Analiza owych obrazów i prezentacja ich kontekstu stanowi naukowy cel pracy, ponieważ jednak mamy tu do czynienia z zapisem teologii doświadczenia – artykuł jest także zaproszeniem do doświadczenia lektury dzieła niemal tak w swych dziejach poczytnego, jak Wyznania św. Augustyna.

The article is the analysis of the text of the 30th out of the 50 Spiritual Homilies by Macarius-Simeon (Pseudo-Macarius), an important, yet mysterious, 4th century monastery author. This homily has been chosen as there is a close relations between pneumatology and christology. They are mutually inclusive which can be seen through interesting and complementary images, particularily the image of Christ giving a second birth like a father, the image of Holy Spirit giving birth from the mother's womb, and the image of Christ-painter restoring human faces. The analysis of these images and the presentation of their context is the scientific goal of the article, but since we are dealing with the record of the teology of experience – the article serves as an invitation to the experience of reading the work which in its history used to be nearly as widely-read as Confessions by St. Augustine.
