Celem artykułu jest pokazanie, jak w sporach publicznych ujawniają się różnice w rozumieniu dialogu. Uczestnicy dialogów wymiennie używają rzeczowników awantura, debata, krytyka, monolog, spór w rozumieniu dialogu, choć nie we wszystkich jego znaczeniach. Dialogi, które toczą się w życiu publicznym, ujawniają możliwość wymienialności tych leksemów. Sfera moralności społecznej utrwala różne relacje tych wyrazów z leksemem dialog, tak jak i stopień bliskoznaczności.

The purpose of the article is to show what differences in meaning of the word dialogue are present in the contemporary public disputes. Dialogue participants intermittently use a few nouns, such as debate, criticism, monologue, dispute, in the sense of dialogue, but not in all its meanings. The dialogues that are taking place in public life reveal the possibility of exchanging these lexemes. The sphere of social morality consolidates the various relations of these words with lexeme dialogue as well as the degree of ambiguity.
