The value of language corpora as a material for studying stereotypes of people with disabilities: comparison of the results of using the Kolokator tool with a set of verbal associations The article presents an attempt to determine the possibility of using tools and materials from language corpora to discover the content of the stereotype related to the category of disability. The starting point for the analysis was obtaining, using the Kolokator tool, a set of words adjacent to the word invalid in the texts of the National Corpus of Polish. This set was compared with reactions obtained in the association test in a group of forty Polish users. Common and separate parts of the set of collocates and set of associations were distinguished. Based on the analysis of contexts, basic thematic spheres (semantic preferences) were identified for the use of the word invalid in corpus resources. It was found that the search of corpus data by Kolokator results in an image shaped by the social perspective, indicating: the role of the group and the type of disability, participation of invalids in cooperatives and unions, the necessity to meet the needs of disabled people, matters of their work and rights. Data obtained from the association study can confirm the significance of some collocates and emphasize the role of some thematic spheres, and can also enrich the picture with abstract, emotional-evaluative terms indicating factors important for shaping the evaluation aspects of the disability stereotype.

Artykuł przedstawia próbę określenia możliwości wykorzystania materiałów z korpusów językowych oraz narzędzi korpusowych do odkrywania treści stereotypu związanego z kategorią inwalidztwa. Punktem wyjścia analiz było pozyskanie, za pomocą narzędzia Kolokator, zbioru wyrazów sąsiadujących bezpośrednio ze słowem inwalida w tekstach Narodowego Korpusu Języka Polskiego. Zbiór ten porównano z reakcjami uzyskanymi w badaniu skojarzeniowym przeprowadzonym w grupie czterdziestu użytkowników języka polskiego. Wyodrębniono części wspólne i odrębne zbioru kolokatów i zbioru skojarzeń. Na podstawie analizy kontekstów wyodrębniono podstawowe sfery/kręgi tematyczne (semantyczne preferencje) stosowania słowa inwalida w zasobach korpusowych. Stwierdzono, że przeszukiwanie danych korpusowych przez Kolokator daje w efekcie obraz kształtowany przez perspektywę społeczną, wskazujący na: rolę grupy i rodzaju inwalidztwa, przynależność inwalidy do spółdzielni i związków, konieczność zaspokajania potrzeb inwalidów, sprawy ich pracy i uprawnień. Dane otrzymane z badania skojarzeniowego mogą potwierdzić istotność niektórych kolokatów oraz podkreślić rolę niektórych kręgów tematycznych, a także mogą wzbogacić obraz o określenia abstrakcyjne, emocjonalno-oceniające, wskazujące czynniki istotne dla kształtowania ewaluacyjnych aspektów stereotypu inwalidztwa.
