This article attempts to show gender inequalities in education. Gender stereotypes can have an impact on the teachers' behavior and practices. Many textbooks contain stories and images that reflect the stereotypical roles and activities of women, men, girls, and boys. In the first part of the paper the author concentrates primarily on explaining the meaning of gender-based discrimination and defines the types and forms of discrimination. The author also analyzes the structure of the employment of teachers by gender in particular provinces and the minimum basic salary rates, which may affect the choice of the profession by persons who are not the main breadwinners. The article may contribute to a discussion on the strategy under the gender equality policy, also in the education sector.

Artykuł podejmuje próbę ukazania nierówności płci w branży edukacyjnej. Stereotypy wynikające z płci mogą wpływać na zachowania i praktyki stosowane przez nauczycieli. Wiele podręczników zawiera historie i obrazy odzwierciedlające stereotypowe role i działania kobiet, mężczyzn, dziewcząt i chłopców. W części pierwszej Autor skupia się przede wszystkim na wyjaśnieniu znaczenia dyskryminacja z powodu płci oraz określa rodzaje i formy dyskryminacji. Dokonuje również analizy struktury zatrudnienia nauczycieli według płci w poszczególnych województwach oraz wysokości minimalnych stawek wynagrodzenia zasadniczego, co może mieć wpływ na wybór zawodu przez osoby niebędące głównymi żywicielami rodziny. Artykuł może być głosem w dyskusji na temat strategii polityki równości płci także w sektorze edukacji.
