El presente artículo analiza Cinco metros de poemas de Carlos Oquendo de Amat y plantea la idea de que nos encontramos frente a una obra política que cuestiona el progreso a través de versos que son escritos a manera de caligramas como si se tratara de montar una película. Asimismo, sostiene que la poesía oquendiana pretende rescatar al individuo de la sociedad del espectáculo, porque la vida cotidiana se reproduce a una escala acelerada y en masa. Por esta razón, el poeta considera que se debe de poner en tela de juicio el modo en que interactúa el hombre y la manera cómo se desarrolla la dominación en una sociedad de mercado. Sin embargo, a pesar de este pesimismo, él brinda señales de que es posible edificar la belleza y, por tanto, la emancipación humana.

This article analyzes Cinco metros de poemas of Carlos Oquendo de Amat and raises the idea that we are in front of a political work that questions the progress or time reified through verses that are written like calligrams as if it were to mount a movie. He also argues that the Oquendian poetry aims to rescue the individual from the society of the spectacle, because everyday life is reproduced on an accelerated scale and in masse. For this reason, the poet believes that the way in which man interacts and the way domination takes place in a market society must be questioned. However, despite this pessimism, he offers signs that it is possible to build beauty and therefore human emancipation.
