Wychodząc od krytycznej refleksji nad tezą Sokratesa o politycznej funkcji wszelkiego wychowania, próbuję pokazać, w jaki sposób zjawisko polityczności, w jego rozumieniu przedstawianym przez H. Arendt, może zostać włączone w aktualne rozważania nad kształtowaniem podmiotu wychowania jako podmiotu zbiorowego. Pierwsza część tekstu obejmuje zagadnienie polityczności z jego konsekwencjami dla rozumienia podmiotu polityczności. W drugiej prowadzę rozważania nad wyzwaniami stojącymi przed edukacją zorientowaną na konstruowanie podmiotu polityczności.

Drawing upon my critical reflection on Socrates’ thesis on the political function of education, I undertake to explain how the phenomenon of the political, with its conceptual frameworks given by H. Arendt, can be involved in the contemporary discussion upon cultivating a collective subject of education. The first section of the paper develops the concept of “the political” with its implications for understanding who is the subject of the political. The second sections presents some considerations on educational aspects and challenges for cultivating the subject of the political.
