The main objective of the present article is to present the political path of the NationalistMovement Party (Turkish: Milli Hareket Partisi, MHP) which has been constantly present onthe Turkish political scene for more than forty years. In the course of the paper the authordiscusses the character of evolution of the party’s program. Another important element of consideration is the search for the reason of such longevity of the party, as long existenceof a party coupled with gaining significant parliamentary representation is not that commonin Turkey.Key words: Turkey, political parties, Nationalist Movement Party, extremism
