History presented in Bible shows story of humankind, from the creation of the world and fall of the first people, through the appointment of the chosen people to coming of the promised. Messiah, Savior of mankind. The story of Israel is a description of the dramatic struggles of the whole people as well as of each person individually to strengthen and preserve their relationship with God. Through the history of the patriarchs, through the time of Egyptian captivity, through wanderings in the desert, the Bible reveals the process of crystallizing Israel’s self-consciousness as a nation, the foundation of which is the belief in the One God revealed at the Mount Sinai. Then, through the history of the Judges and the beginning of the Monarchy, Scripture shows us the deeper fall of Israel and in opposition to this men of God who, at all costs, want to save their people from perdition.
