The article briefly presents the basic assumptions of developmental conception of disability as a way of perception of the phenomenon of disability. The study is an attempt to look at the problems connected with determinants of the development of a disabled person. The main goal of the article is to describe the specific circumstances which can occur in the process of the development of a disabled person. The article also presents some suggestions which could be applied in practice of rehabilitation of the disabled.
