Some Remarks on a Peculiarity of the Concepts of Nation and National Minorities in East-Central EuropeThe paper presents a short comparative analysis of the concepts of nation and national minority which appear in Western and Eastern parts of Europe. The Western, political concept of nation was contrasted with the Eastern idea of nation as a cultural entity. Causes of this dissimilarity are related to different social and political history of the both parts of the Continent. The differences, in the case of Western Europe, led to a phenomenon of overlapping of the Zeszyty Naukowe Instytutu Spraw Publicznych Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego
